As an all volunteer professional organization, volunteer opportunities exist for people who want to complete a one-time task, or volunteer for a recurring responsibility, requiring only a few hours a month. Volunteering is a great way to get more involved.

GOALS:

In order to bring you the most relevant programs for your professional development, our goals include:

  • Provide meaningful, value-added professional development and networking opportunities through monthly programs.
  • Present a spirit of collaboration and community within the training profession with all industries/fields.
  • Increase new and renewed membership
  • Increase willingness to actively participate in Programs and other subcommittees of the Chapter
  • Utilize nearby ASTD chapters to create programs
  • Create registration committee to handle registration at all program events
  • Conduct Train-the-Trainer Certificate program

JOB DESCRIPTION:

VP of Programs

The Product/Service Position will serve as an Executive Board Member. This position will be responsible the coordination of all Chapter events. To include monthly programs as well as special events.

The Product/Service position will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop & implement an annual Product/Service Development plan
    • Annually present the Product/Service Development plan, to include budget considerations, to the board
    • Update the board on the status/progress of the Product/Service Development plan
  • Schedule monthly events (SeptJune) to include; topic, speakers, facilities, menu & registration etc.
    • Coordinate with speakers on their needs etc.
    • Work with the facility to ensure the needs of the event or met, to include menu
    • Ensure a board member is assigned to the registration desk
    • Consistently look at ways to improve the monthly events
  • Ensure the Marketing committee has background information for all activity announcements in time to be publicized
    • Work with the marketing committee to ensure they receive speaker biographies, meeting time & location information as early as possible
  • Survey Chapter members to ensure the board is providing events that meet the needs of the members
  • Coordinate each event agenda
    • Introduce guest speakers
    • Ensure the speaker has ample presentation time
    • Work with the facility staff on any needs of the event
  • Ensure the product/service table is available at each chapter function
  • Promote member benefits & opportunities at chapter functions
  • Coordinate the development, location, speakers & registration of the Train The Trainer Course
